Ian's poster.x

I want my design to become more graphically appealing, so i set myself the limitations of a type based poster.
I still kept my individuality hands-on approach by using typewritten text.
Just the date Ian Curtis was born & died.
& the words, 'Love really would tear him apart' at the bottom.
I wanted to keep it veryyy simple.
I screen printed the overall poster...
But is it too simple? hmm

Unknown Pleasures.x

Lino cut & etchings of the famous album cover from Peter Saville.
amazing design.
1st lino cut, but it's too think, so i then etched it to produce a much thinner line.x

canvas bags.x

just some canvas bags i made for friends, featuring the letterpressed phrase,
lyrics from Transmission.
Then taken into screen print & printed onto the bags.x

letterpress selection of ian curtis lyrics & quotes.x

some more letterpress samples, all to feature in my new ian curtis zine.
I set up my letterpress screens differently this time, allowing letters to slot in wherever possible, within reason.
& i think it works much better.

Initial letter press, Ian Curtis love poem.x

Now working on a quote ian wrote to his wife debbie, set in letterpress then edited in photoshop.x

Era Zine.x

my 1st time using in design for zine layout.
1st print out of era zine & bound together.
Inkjet printed, The choice of paper I used meant the colour of images wouldn't be very vibrant
& the text featured becomes a bit blurry. Factors which I'd normally appreciate.
Hmmmm i think maybe the way i put the zine together could
be a factor more thought out, the way it has been folded.
it may work better as single sheets, double sided printed then stapled or bound.

Do we romanticize the past?

Letterpress sample to feature in Era Zine.x

Screen Prints, ERA.x

I'm currently making a zine based on 'ERA's & the fact I feel like i've been born in the wrong one.
As i'm not really much of an illustrator I have collected about 15 images which I have screen printed in half tone dots to feature within the zine.x

card selection.x

Some of the selections of cards i have been making...
New home cards, Letterpressed.
Birthday cards, etchings.

Fishing Zine.x

Another quickly put together zine; 'the beginners guide to coarse fishing'.
really quickly put together, pages are hand-designed and photocopied.x

All Hallows Eve.x

I put this quick zine together based on 'All Hallows Eve'. It's an informative zine based on the myths & legends of the holiday, featuring articles, drawings & photos. Photocopied.

88 Things.x

88 things; a brief given to me for research purposes. To find 88 things in books & to present them in a clear, relevant manner.

I put this small hand-bound book together, a collection of double sided, photocopied colour & black & white copies. A4 with 4 images per page, making an A5 booklet.
